The DoorJet, and why car washes buy them

Every time a bay door goes up, cold air pours in and your heating system fights a battle it can't win. The Solaronics DoorJet answers with an immediate surge of heat aimed straight at the opening.

A door limit switch fires the fan and burner the instant the door starts to rise — no warm-up period — and shuts both off the moment it closes. In car washes that keeps wash and dry temperatures consistent through every cycle, and DoorJets are frequently added at drying stations to speed the dry itself. The whole unit is 16-gauge 304 stainless with a watertight, prewired control enclosure, which is what lets it survive a car wash environment year after year.

Brad handles DoorJet sales nationally — wherever your site is, this is the right call to make.

Authorized Rep · Chicago

Solaronics

U.S. manufacturer of gas-fired infrared heating since 1962, based in Auburn Hills, Michigan, and ISO 9001:2015 certified. Infrared directs heat down toward the floor where it's needed instead of letting it stack up at the ceiling — which is why it works so well in tall, drafty, frequently-opened spaces.

Infrared Heaters

  • DoorJet overhead door heaters — stainless, door-triggered; sold nationally (details above)
  • Low-intensity tube heaters — Suntube and True Dual two-stage; 40,000–200,000 BTUH, 10′–70′ tube lengths, straight or U-tube
  • High-intensity ceramic heaters — ventless, fast recovery, good for spot heating and open bays
  • Residential garage heaters — certified low-intensity models
  • Harsh-environment models — stainless steel tube and two-stage options
  • Accessories — reflectors, controls, heat exchangers, replacement parts

Industrial Gas Burners

  • Ceramic plaque and wire mesh burners
  • Woven ceramic fabric (WCF) and metal fiber burners
  • Metallic foam burners and complete burner packages

Applications

Where this equipment goes to work

If your space is tall, has big doors, or moves a lot of air, there's usually a fit. Car washes are where we do the most volume — but the same problem shows up in a lot of buildings.

Our largest market

Car Washes

Tunnel and in-bay doors that cycle constantly, plus vehicle drying stations. DoorJets hold wash and dry temperatures steady and shrug off the wet, corrosive environment — this is the bulk of what we sell.

Auto Body & Detail Shops

Bay doors opening all day, with finish work that depends on holding a stable temperature inside.

Distribution Centers

Long dock walls and constant door cycles — tempered inrush air at the opening instead of an overworked main heating system.

Warehouse & Manufacturing

High ceilings and open floor plans where infrared beats forced-air, paired with exhaust and make-up air to keep the building balanced.

Loading Docks

Spot heating at the dock face and door heaters for openings that can't stay closed.

Vehicle Service & Truck Bays

Service bays, fleet maintenance, and municipal garages where doors open all day long.

Aircraft Hangars

Large-volume spaces with frequent door cycles and fast recovery requirements.

Fire Stations & Road Maintenance

Apparatus bays and highway garages that need heat back quickly after a call-out.

Marine & Equipment Repair

Large-door repair shops where units come in and out and the building can't hold heat.

Agriculture

Livestock buildings, greenhouses, and equipment storage with ventilation to match.

Commercial Kitchens

Hoods, grease duct, exhaust fans, and make-up air as a coordinated package.

Retrofits & Replacement Parts

Replacing failed units, swapping in two-stage controls, or sourcing parts for equipment already in the building.

How We Work

Three steps, no call center

We're a two-person operation. That means the person who picks up the phone is the person who prices your job and follows it through the factory.

Tell us about the space

Square footage, ceiling height, fuel type, door openings, and how the space gets used. A floor plan helps but isn't required to get started.

We size and lay it out

We come back with equipment selection, quantities, and a layout — plus venting and make-up air considerations and what your local code requires.

Quote, order, and delivery

Written pricing with lead times. We place and track the factory order and stay available through installation and startup.
